Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

I'm sentimental about getting married in this temple.
We're both excited to get married there.
Although, Brent said he didn't care where the wedding was
as long as it was in the temple!

These two awesome people got married in the same place 25 years ago.
Scott & Keri Bullock / August 1985

My handsome Grandpa Bullock (second from the left of my dad)
will be performing the marriage ceremony.
My Grandpa and Grandma Bartlett (right of my mom)
were also married in the Salt Lake Temple.
Both sets of grandparents have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversaries.
I told Brent I'm considering this as an omen for our marriage!

Quotes from leaders of our church about the Temple & marriage:

"The temple takes men and women and it joins them together in an eternal covenant of matrimony, holy and pure, given of God, which supplies the necessities and meets the purest and strongest desires of the soul. What a glorious thought this is!” -Joseph F. Smith

"Temple marriage covenants do not magically bring equality to a partnership. Those covenants commit us to a developmental process of learning and growing together—by practice.” -Bruce C. Hafen

"An eternal marriage is eternal. Eternal implies continuing growth and improvement. It signifies that love will grow stronger with time and that it extends beyond the grave. It means that each partner will be blessed with the company of the other partner forever. Eternal signifies repentance, forgiveness, long-suffering, patience, hope, charity, love, and humility. All of these things are involved in anything that is eternal, and surely we must learn and practice them if we intend to claim an eternal marriage."- F. Burton Howard

“Pray for the love which allows you to see the good in your companion. Pray for the love that makes weaknesses and mistakes seem small. Pray for the love to make your companion’s joy your own. Pray for the love to want to lessen the load and soften the sorrows of your companion.” -Henry B. Eyring

“Marriage is sanctified when it is cherished and honored in holiness. That union is not merely between husband and wife; it embraces a partnership with God.”
-Russell M. Nelson
